3 Reasons Why You’ll Rarely See Edited Content on My Socials!
Helloooo! Your fave Iowa wedding florist here! 😋 As a life long flower lover (and color theory nerd) I live for the beauty of fresh flowers and all the natural hues we have to choose from and I absolutely LOVE sharing my work with couples looking for an Iowa Wedding Florist.
With the glamour and hype around weddings I’m sure you’re more than familiar with a curated feed when scrolling, but you may or may not noticed I keep my feed a liiiittle less polished and actually choose to altar my images only with light instead of filters or editing!
Here’s why:
Wedding Photographers Are True Artists
Editing wedding photos is so much more than slapping a filter on an image. It’s an art form! Your wedding photographer knows all the ins and outs of balancing hues, adjusting lighting and enhancing tones and each one does it a little differently. I don’t possess that skill nor do I plan to.
It’s your photographer’s job to make sure the memories captured are at their best but it’s my job to let you know what that flower looks like IRL.
Highlighting the beauty of the space
While wedding photographers work their magic behind the lens and in editing, my focus is on showcasing the real-time beauty of my floral designs. I like to highlight the bare bones of the spaces I create in- the way flowers catch the natural light, how colors pop against the venues architecture, and the overall vibe your guest will see with the naked eye.
After all, your wedding photos are beautiful, artistic expression of your day, but the lighting and colors of your flowers in your venue in real life are what your guests will experience firsthand.
Inspo Photo Clarity
This is an infamous topic amongst wedding florists. If you’ve spent any time on Pinterest searching “blush” wedding flowers” you’ve probably noticed there are A LOT of different options. From barely beige to bubble gum, the term “blush” is slapped on a lot of captions showing vastly different flowers.
And here’s the kicker : the shade of your flowers can also look different depending on your wedding photographers’s editing style. A blush bouquet might appear warmer, cooler, or slightly muted depending on how the photo was processed.
That’s one of the reasons I like to show the true-to-life colors of my designs on my socials. It gives my engaged couples a clear idea of what to expect on their wedding day.
Trust the process
By choosing a photographer whose style resonates with you, you’re ensuring the vision of your day comes to life in a way that feels uniquely you. My job is to make sure the florals do the same.
When you book me as your florist, you can trust that what you see on my feed is exactly what your flowers will look like in person. No filters, no guesswork- just the raw beauty of fresh florals and carefully crafted designs.
